Course Description: Theory and practice in the techniques of administering emergency first aid and CPR to infants and children. Successful completion leads to an American Red Cross Pediatric First Aid and CPR certificate.
Course Objectives: Upon successful completion of this course the student will be able to:

This course in particular requires active class participation is discussions and hands-on practice of first aid and CPR techniques. Your active participation is highly encouraged.
Students must achieve 80% on the First Aid and CPR tests in order to receive American Red Cross certification.

CLASS ASSIGNMENTS
Class Participation (Question of the day) 200 points (20% of grade)
CPR Written Test 200 points (20% of grade)
CPR Demonstration Test 200 points (20% of grade)
First Aid Written Test 200 points (20% of grade)
First Aid Demonstration Test 200 points (20% of grade)
GRADING
Class assignments total 1000 points. Grades will be issued based on the total points earned on all assignments.

The American Red Cross First Aid and CPR Certification will only be issued to students who receive a score of 80% of the written tests and who successfully complete the application of skills demonstrations. A student may pass this course but not receive American Red Cross First Aid and CPR Certification. A student should not assume that passage of this class automatically results in certification.
